I just specced into the Core flaylock today, and i got to say, with some more practice, i can really start owning fools, with it, it's a really nice sidearm despite what people say.
3 hits militia suits which is nice and is great for finishing people off.
I need proficiency on this bad boy, maybe i could 2 hit milita.
I really don't know why it's so underused, it's good, you just need practice.

The Flaylock is fun, but it's underused for a reason, and that's not just skill. Even three direct hits with max proficiency won't kill most suits, where as everything else can easily down just about any suit. Outside of the fun factor, there's just no room for the Flaylock at the moment, which is sad because it's such a unique gun in this game. The reason it's underused is probably the arc. Makes it too situational to be reliable. There really isn't any arc, where you aim it, is where it goes

I really don't know why it's so underused, it's good, you just need practice. I use it and get kills regularly. I have stated this fact many times in the forums. I would say that if you are decent at it, it might just be the top 3 best side arm in the game. BTW, someone I played with runs assault scrambler pistol and flaylock with 2 side arm damage mods and just owns people. "I get kills regularly" means nothing. I've been running nothing other than a PLC + Flaylock standard scout since Wednesday, and I go positive pretty much every match, sometimes as high as 3 or 4 K/D. That doesn't make it balanced. As for "top 3 best side arm in the game", just... lol. It's certainly not top 3- SMG, Magsec, and SCP are the clear top 3, no question about that. NKs are extremely powerful but specialized, the bolt pistol is better than the flaylock, and the ion pistol is about on the same level as the flaylock. It's tied for worst sidearm in the game, and arguably the worst, since the ion pistol has more damage per clip and is hitscan. It's all preference. No need to argue. I just enjoy the weapon greatly, fits my style.

Have you never heard of the Scrambler Pistol, Sub Machine Gun, Bolt Pistol, or the MagSec SMG? Theres better sidearms, yes, but it's all preference. I suck with the scrambler pistol, i find the magsec has to much kick, i don't like the charge of the bolt, but i enjoy the flaylock greatly.

I'm not arguing that it's not usable- I'm skilled into every weapon in the game because I like variety, and yes, I can kill anything with anything if I work hard enough at it. But that doesn't mean that weapon balance is perfect, or even particularly good. I never said the weapon doesn't need a buff, all i said was i like the weapon, if it had a clip size buff, 3 for standard 4 for advanced and 5 for proto it would be great.
